Business sponsorships needed to cover travel expenses for orphans coming from the Philippines for the 2007 Summer of Hope program in Boise, Idaho.

July 2007—The Summer of Hope is a unique charity event that both projects a positive image to the international community and meets the pressing needs of children. The program brings older orphans from the Philippines for a 4 week visit to the U.S. where they can meet American families who often end up adopting, mentoring or staying connected with them for life.

In the last four years 57 of these children have found permanent families through this same program in Bozeman, MT and more than 2,000 have found hope through similar national programs.

Without intervention, the older orphans in the Philippines have little hope of a normal adult life. Statistically most end up in a life of poverty and crime. Research has shown that a connected, caring relationship with an adult is the most important factor in preventing a child from leading a life of violence, and helping that child become a productive member of society.

Corporate Sponsorship Opportunities

Businesses of any size are invited to help support this program. In addition to expressing goodwill from the United States and helping save children’s lives, business supporters will benefit from publicity and exposure of the summerofhope.org web site and other media channels. Summer of Hope’s current corporate supporters range from small to large businesses and include: Costco, Arbonne International, RisingLine.com, Postal Annex, Roaring Springs, Primerica, High Desert Shirt Co., Wayne Cass Photography, and M.J.’s Backhoe.

Be a Champion of Hope for Children Without Families

Millions of children around the world are growing up in orphanages and foster care. Many lose hope as they wait for families that never come. Every child needs a connected caring relationship with a stable adult to grow and thrive.

In the last four years 57 children have found permanent families through this same program in Bozeman, MT and more than 2,000 have found hope through similar national programs.

What is the Summer of Hope?

The Summer of Hope program brings older orphans from the Philippines to the U.S. for a fun summer visit. The organization helps these kids meet American families who often end up adopting, mentoring or staying connected to them for life. The Summer of Hope is administered by The Sacred Portion Children’s Outreach, recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)3 charitable organization.

What is the Hope Walk ‘07?

The Hope Walk is a fundraising event to pay for the children’s traveling expenses for their summer visit. Expenses such as background checks, food, clothing and activities while here are covered by the host families as are any adoption expenses that may occur later. Donated funds may also be used temporarily as interest free loans to certain host families to cover immediate adoptions expenses, but these funds are to be repaid and used for bringing more children for summer visits. Funds may also be used to cover travel expenses of required Filipino social workers who travel with the children for accountability and translation purposes.

Who can participate in hope walk ‘07?

All ages are invited to form teams, collect donations and walk in honor of a child who needs a family, or in celebration of a child who has been adopted. Anyone can participate regardless of age or ability—this is a non-competitive event and no registration fee is required.
